This privacy policy governs your use of the software application EcoFactor Wrap (“Application”) for mobile devices that was created by SupremeVue. The Application connects to EcoFactor’s web site to allow you to view your thermostats, make temperature and schedule settings changes, and set various other thermostat settings using EcoFactor’s platform.
What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?
User Provided Information
The Application obtains this information when you download and run the application. Specifically, the Application requires you to enter your email address and password in order to access the EcoFactor web site and your account information. This information is stored on your device to allow for easier access to the EcoFactor web site and is NOT sent to anyone other than EcoFactor’s web site for authentication purposes.
Automatically Collected Information
In addition, the Application may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to: the type of mobile device you use, your mobile devices’ unique Device ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, and information about the way you use the Application.
This Application uses Google Analytics to report on Application usage and provide information on certain actions performed by the Application. This includes, but is not limited to the following types of activities: Obtaining location ID, thermostat ID, outside temperature, changing temperature, setting away mode and back mode, checking thermostat model information, and changing HVAC/Fan modes. No personally identifiable information is sent, although you should note that some information required by the EcoFactor web site is used to identify you as a subscriber. However, such information is not used by SupremeVue for any identification purposes.
Additionally, the Application will send information to Google Analytics when an unexpected error condition has occurred. The information sent includes, but is not limited to, the action you were attempting to perform, data associated with that action if it is relevant, and the error message returned either by the EcoFactor web site or the Application.
Should the Application experience a fatal error condition (“crash”), information about the error condition and related technical data is sent to Crashlytics (www.crashlytics.com) for use only by SupremeVue for resolving the error condition. No personal information is sent.
Does the Application collect precise real time location information of the device?
This Application does not collect precise information about the location of your mobile device. However, Google Analytics may use your location information if you have given Google permission for such access.
Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Application?
No third parties have access to any data other than what has already outlined above in regards to Google Analytics and Crashlytics.
What are my opt-out rights?
You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling the Application. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.
Data Retention Policy
User Provided data will be used while you are using the Application and will be removed when you uninstall the Application. Automatically Collected information will be stored for up to 24 months and thereafter may be stored in aggregate
Children
This Application is not intended for, nor marketed to, children under the age of 13.
Security
We limit access to any Analytics (Google Analytics or Crashlytics) information to authorized employees and contractors who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our Application. Please be aware that, although we endeavor provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy here. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
Your Consent
By using the Application, you are consenting to our processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us. “Processing,” means using cookies on a computer/hand held device or using or touching information in any way, including, but not limited to, collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining and disclosing information, all of which activities will take place in the United States. If you reside outside the United States your information will be transferred, processed and stored there under United States privacy standards.
