What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?
User Provided Information
The Application obtains this information when you download and run the application. Specifically, the Application requires you to enter your email address and password in order to access the ecobee web site and your account information. This information is NOT stored on your device and is only used initially to get the proper ecobee authorization. Should subsequent authorization fail, you will be asked for your username and password again to get new authorization.
Firebase Login Information
Paid subscribers have the option to store some Application information in Google’s Firebase Cloud. This includes Application settings and Report information. No personally identifiable information is stored and information is only accessible to authenticated users. You may delete your entire account or specific data at any time via the Application. See below for Data Retention information.
Automatically Collected Information
In addition, the Application may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to: the type of mobile device you use, your mobile devices’ unique Device ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, and information about the way you use the Application.
This Application uses Google’s Firebase Analytics to report on Application usage and provide information on certain actions performed by the Application. This includes, but is not limited to the following types of activities: Obtaining location ID, thermostat ID, outside temperature, changing temperature, setting away mode and back mode, checking thermostat model information, and changing HVAC/Fan modes. Some personally identifiable information may be sent to the extent it is provided by ecobee (i.e., your zipcode). However, such information is not used by SupremeVue for any identification or tracking purposes.
Additionally, the Application will send information to Google’s Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics when an unexpected error condition has occurred. The information sent includes, but is not limited to, the action you were attempting to perform, data associated with that action if it is relevant, and the error message returned either by the ecobee web site or the Application.
Should the Application experience a fatal error condition (“crash”), information about the error condition and related technical data is sent to Firebase Crashlytics for use only by SupremeVue for resolving the error condition. No personal information is sent.
When you choose to send SupremeVue your log files (via Settings->Send logs files…), the exact information ecobee has provided to the application is sent to SupremeVue. This information will NOT include any personally identifiable information other than what ecobee has provided (i.e., zipcode).
Does the Application collect precise real time location information of the device?
This Application does not collect precise information about the location of your mobile device unless you are using the Geofence capability. For Geofence, precise location information is required and you will be prompted to give the application permission to access your precise location.
In addition, Google’s Firebase Analytics may use your location information if you have given Google permission for such access through the settings in your phone. This is not requested nor required by the Application.
Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Application?
No third parties have access to any data other than what has already outlined above in regards to Google’s Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics.
What are my opt-out rights?
You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling the Application. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.
